Today we all loaded up and headed down to spend the day with Mamaw and Pabob. We had such a good time. The kids love being there with their great grand parents. They love playing the old toys and playing upstairs. This time the cat toys were their favorites. Weird kids.

Birthdays
This is our month of birthdays. It starts at the end of July and ends the end of September.
Chynell, Brannan and Kevin’s mom, all had a birthday party in Aug. Brannan and Kathleen share the same birthday. Every year Kathleen says she is turning the same age as Brannan. This year they were 28. Chyn, our baby, is 23. Wow. That went by too fast.
Next is Izzy’s birthday. He was so excited. He got to finally drive the go carts all by himself
Part of his present is we took him to a friends house to hold their ball python. He loved it. Me and Pops, not so much.
Next was Nate’s birthday. He is pretty excited to have his last year of a single digit.
Happy Birthday guys.
The beginning of our journey without her.
The Journey
Tomorrow it will be 10 weeks since mom, nana, left us and stepped straight into Heaven. We were so blessed and privileged to have spent her last 5 weeks with her. We laughed, cried, prayed and love each other while she was here. So many tiny things about those days I think about, daily. She wanted to be with the grandkids and great grandkids and she got to do that. She would light up when they came in a room. Everyone loved coming in and giving her hugs and kisses and sitting near her to talk. Some rubbed her legs with lotion, or combed her hair, put makeup on her, sat and watched westerns with her on tv. We all sang to her and held her hands and kissed and loved on her as she left this temporary home. I have no doubt that she knew was loved and that we would miss her every day til we each leave this world. She IS and WAS the backbone to our family. We are each who we are because of her. We each owe the foundation of our faith, our love, our beliefs, our humor, our determination to her. She continues to be our world. She teaches us, to this day, how to be better people. We still look to her life for examples of how to be the best we can be.
Yesterday would have been her 77th birthday. We all thought of her and celebrated and remembered her in our own way. Some wore special jewelry, some ate her favorite foods and some spent time with those they loved and who would help them with this day. At the very least. We all spent time with her in our own way.
Aug. 1 we traveled to Porterville, CA. to have a Celebration of Life service for her. It was all that would have made her proud. As a family, her children and some of her grandchildren and great grands..we were proud to stand and see so many who came to honor who she was. Without a doubt the best for our family was the photo that was taken of all of “her kids”. So many.
Mom made an impact and touched people wherever she went. She was never “old”. She still felt in her head that she was 35.
We all miss her every day. Many of us often text one another saying what we experienced in the day that brought us back to her. There are never enough words to say about her. Never enough to convey to the rest of the world how very special of a lady she was. How strong she was. How she always put God and her family first. How she laughed at life. How she loved music and people. If you ever met her you would never forget her.
I hope those of you reading this will enjoy these few photos of her life.
I love you mom.
so much
So much has gone on. We bought a house and got moved. It’s about 2000 sq ft. house on 2.97 acres of woods. We love it. It was built in 1976 and we have a lot of wallpaper to strip and repaint but we have plenty of time for that. Right now we are just loving all the space. Right away we had a fence put up around a backyard area and then we had a pool put up. The rest comes in small bites.
Just a week or so after we got moved in to our new home our great friends Kent and Darla came for a visit. We can never get enough time with them. This visit just didn’t last long enough.
For Mothers Day weekend we took our whole family, all 10 of us, to Branson to our timeshare. We had the best time. So much food and laughter. Kevin and I couldn’t have asked for a better time with our gang.
Last but certainly not least. Brannan and Kevin went to CA. to pack up and move my mom out here. I got to keep the 3 older ones here. While daddy worked they stayed the day with me, went home with him for dinner and some daddy time and then back here to sleep and start over the next day. Mom, Kevin, Brannan, Naiya were out there 7 days and took 5 days to get back. We are enjoying having mom with us. Lots of new things to learn each day.
So this has been our May so far. It’s been good, full of family and love and a lot of changes. I expect we will see more as time goes on.
Happy Birthday to me
EASTER BIRTHDAY
April is Easter Birthday month for us.
It seems every birthday party my sister and I shared as little girls always had an Easter theme. So why break with tradition. Since our birthdays fall with my sister’s on the 3rd, her oldest daughter on the 5th, mine on the 9th and Kevin’s on the 11 …and Easter was on the 5th we would just make a day of it. We met, had a meal that Brannan and Jacob prepared and had cake..so yummy.. and an egg hunt for the kids.
Fun full day!
Looking for that last Easter egg.
Happy Birthday to us!
Gotta love a great deal
I absolutely love it when a good deal comes along. I have a laptop that I have hooked up to my Cricut that I use for crafting but I have been wanting a smaller tablet to use wherever I am and when we travel. However, not seeing it as a necessity I didn’t want to spend a bunch on one. So I kept working on saving my gift cards til what I wanted was on sale.
Kevin and I go in to get what I had picked out. Satisfied with the price we would pay, we passed by the cell phones on our way to the register. Hmmm, the cell phone Kevin has been wanting was not only on sale but if you got it today you get a $100 Gift Card to use immediately.
So we walked out with the new phone and my new tablet…all for the grand total of $10.00 plus tax!!!
Now that’s a great deal.
So this has been happening for some time now. Chynell has her own horse training business going and is also taking lessons herself to learn English riding and jumping. So proud of this girl and how hard she has and is working.
And this is happening..these guys steal my heart daily. Its so fun watching them grow and learn new things daily. Their little, and sometimes very big, personalities are stretching and reaching and growing all kind of new ways. Being a Geema is just simple the very best.
