Bridal Fair

Standard

This is our family wedding weekend. My sister, Retta, and her girls, Ari and Tawni, got here Friday.  I am so glad that my sister and her girls live closer to us now. My sister and I have not lived in the same state in 18 years and now we are 3 hours apart.

We went bridesmaid dress shopping on Friday night to get the dress for Tawni..and by the way she looks so adorable in the dress she and Chynell picked. Then on Saturday, Sonya, Michael’s mom, joined us and we all went to a Bridal Fair. It was fun. More fun than I thought it would be. We went from booth to booth, watched Chyn get excited and get information. Brannan, being the very pregnant mamma that she is, did all the cake testing for us 😉

There was dance studio doing little demonstrations and our girls got right in the middle of it.

I think they were the best out there.

After this, Sonya had to leave and Retta joined us (she was at the doctor while we were at the Bridal Fair) and we went out to lunch. Such a nice day.

I swear I am savoring every single moment of this. I can tell you all of the moments and shopping we did for Brannan’s wedding, 8 years ago, and I am eating up every one of these moments with Chynell.

HO HO HO

I have a snowglobe of each of my grandsons at Christmas, wearing a Santa hat. Those pictures were taken when they were just a few months old. I had yet to get a snowglobe or a picture of Moxi..and she is now 3. So for Christmas Michael gave me a snowglobe..so I took these adorable pictures of Moxi to put in it. And the whole time I was taking pictures she was posing and saying in her deepest voice ” HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS”

Happy Birthday, Michael.

Standard

IMAG0602This is Michael. His birthday was a few weeks ago. But I don’t forget our family birthdays. We do dinner, have cake, sing and just love on that person. This day was Michael’s day. He is almost our son-in-law. He makes us all laugh. He sharpens me. He makes me think about things. He is witty. He knows odd facts and details about odd things. He is loveable (just ask Chynell) and we are so excited to have him be part of our family (or our family be part of his..not sure which) In true fashion..we had cupcakes with Brannan and the kids and they gave him the paper airplanes they made for him, there were presents, we went to dinner with his mom, grandma and Josh. It was a fun first birthday together. Happy Birthday, Michael. We are planning on many many more with you.

Pretty Pretty Princesses

Standard

About a week ago I got an email about a Daddy Daughter date night at Chilli’s restaraunt. I sent it to Kevin thinking he might like to do this with our girls. And he did. He immediately invited both of our girls to have a evening out with him. The promo said there would be a section set up just for daddy and daughters and there would be a picture taken and put in a frame for them. I guess we just thought this would be dad’s and their older daughters.

When the night arrived both girls were dressed and ready for a night out with their dad. When they came back in I noticed their pretty crowns and heart stickers on their faces.

I guess they were the only daughters over about the age of 7. But they got coloring pages and pretty crowns regardless. They were all laughing and talking and said they had a great time.

I think it was really special for Kevin. He got a night out, alone, with his grown daughters, one engaged and one expecting her 4th baby..just the 3 of them. Just the 3 of them, to talk seriously and to laugh and have fun. I bet this will be a night they will all remember for awhile.

Sister friend

Dory.

I think we have loved each other since we met. We think so much alike. We can laugh and love all day long. Yet in the middle of a conversation we will stop and pray. She sharpens me and corrects me in love from the Word of God. She prays for me and my family. We love to sing together. We get so caught up in praising that we forget the words..lol. Our families are not friends. We are without a doubt, in every sense of the word. Family. I am so grateful for her Dory. Everyday. She completes me and makes me a better me.

The Dress

Standard

This was the day.

This was the very first time my daughter tried on a wedding dress. Oh, she tried mine on when she was a little girl. But this is different.

This time she will try it on. She will envision herself as a bride, walking down the aisle to Michael.

She will imagine herself saying her vows.

Dancing.

Pictures being taken.

Michael, and everyone else, watching her thru the day.

She had a list of so many to try on that she had seen online..and she had one she was just sure would be the dress..but when she tried the very last one on…she knew. We all knew.

This is the dress she will wear as she transforms from our daughter to Michael’s wife.
