Birthdays

Standard

This is our month of birthdays. It starts at the end of July and ends the end of September.

Chynell, Brannan and Kevin’s mom, all had a birthday party in Aug. Brannan and Kathleen share the same birthday. Every year Kathleen says she is turning the same age as Brannan. This year they were 28. Chyn, our baby, is 23. Wow. That went by too fast.

Next is Izzy’s birthday. He was so excited. He got to finally drive the go carts all by himself

Part of his present is we took him to a friends house to hold their ball python. He loved it. Me and Pops, not so much.

The Journey

Standard

Tomorrow it will be 10 weeks since mom, nana, left us and stepped straight into Heaven. We were so blessed and privileged to have spent her last 5 weeks with her. We laughed, cried, prayed and love each other while she was here. So many tiny things about those days I think about, daily. She wanted to be with the grandkids and great grandkids and she got to do that. She would light up when they came in a room. Everyone loved coming in and giving her hugs and kisses and sitting near her to talk. Some rubbed her legs with lotion, or combed her hair, put makeup on her, sat and watched westerns with her on tv. We all sang to her and held her hands and kissed and loved on her as she left this temporary home. I have no doubt that she knew was loved and that we would miss her every day til we each leave this world. She IS and WAS the backbone to our family. We are each who we are because of her. We each owe the foundation of our faith, our love, our beliefs, our humor, our determination to her. She continues to be our world. She teaches us, to this day, how to be better people. We still look to her life for examples of how to be the best we can be.

Yesterday would have been her 77th birthday. We all thought of her and celebrated and remembered her in our own way. Some wore special jewelry, some ate her favorite foods and some spent time with those they loved and who would help them with this day. At the very least. We all spent time with her in our own way.

Aug. 1 we traveled to Porterville, CA. to have a Celebration of Life service for her. It was all that would have made her proud. As a family, her children and some of her grandchildren and great grands..we were proud to stand and see so many who came to honor who she was. Without a doubt the best for our family was the photo that was taken of all of “her kids”. So many.

Mom made an impact and touched people wherever she went. She was never “old”. She still felt in her head that she was 35.

We all miss her every day. Many of us often text one another saying what we experienced in the day that brought us back to her. There are never enough words to say about her. Never enough to convey to the rest of the world how very special of a lady she was. How strong she was. How she always put God and her family first. How she laughed at life. How she loved music and people. If you ever met her you would never forget her.

I hope those of you reading this will enjoy these few photos of her life.

I love you mom.
