Once a year Kevin and Russ get together to make and can salsa. This is something a lot of us look forward to. There is the mild batch for me and Russ’s mom and then there is the HOT batch for everyone else. I think tonight they made 12 pints and 12 quarts….and tomorrow they start again. Thanks guys..we all appreciate it. Now don’t put those hands to your eyes.

Last Saturday, Kutless was in Ft.Smith, signing CD’s. Chyn really wanted to get a new CD so off we went. They were really nice guys..we talked for a bit about their tatts and where they and we were from. They way they interacted with each other made me think of my brother and his friends.  I have liked their music since I heard it but when you can put a voice and a face with the group it just seems to mean more. The down side..Chyn had a bad head cold and the next day both Kevin and I came down with a flu bug..I sure hope these guys didn’t get sick..just think…Chyn’s claim to fame can be she shut down a Kutless concert due to illness.

Yesterday Chynell cut about 10″ off her hair. I really like it. I just have to get use to it being so much shorter. Several have made the comment that it really makes her look older. hmmm..not sure if I am crazy about that part or not.  But I do like her hair.

Yesterday after Kevin’s doctor appointment we stopped by to see Brannan and the boys. We wanted to deliver some birthday presents to Iz and Nate (tho Nate still has 3 weeks til his bday).

On the way to the appointment we stopped by the Growing Kids Sale in Ft. Smith and got a ton of books for the boys, a monitor for our house for when our new baby arrives and my best find was a Little Tykes desk that I have been wanting so badly for the boys. I was thrilled to find this. But our most loved find was costumes. Nate and Iz love love love dressing up. So we did good. A turtle outfit, a superman cape, a tiger costume and a girraffe. They loved it and we couldn’t have been happier at how excited they were.

This just makes me laugh out loud.

Meet my grandsons…the tiger and giraffe.

My zoo.

This is what a 2 year old Israel looks like.

My favorite Israel in the whole world.

What a very nice relaxing anniversary we had. Once again, for the 26th time, I received roses for our anniversary. Every year Kevin has given me a red rose for the first 12 years we were married, then white ones mixed in for the next 13 years. We decided to start over and he gave me a yellow rose. While we were out to dinner Chynell showed up and paid for our meal. Yep, a very nice anniversary.

29 years ago I met this gorgeous man and for 3 years we were great friends. He sought me out each time he came to town whether it was for a few minutes of time together or time to sit and talk. Each time I saw him he just made me weak. One night out of nowhere , and a huge surprise to us both, we both fell crazy in love. Later that year we were married and it couldn’t have happened soon enough for either of us. He picked out a lot of details of our wedding with such enthusiasm. He was just so excited for us to get married.

Today I celebrate being married to my best friend, my lover, the father of our children, for 26 years.

Every day he makes me laugh. He never gives me an opportunity to get angry. He makes me laugh at everything. He’s always full of affection, never leaves the house without saying I Love You..even if it’s just to walk across the street. He is sure to make sure in a crowded room that I know he notices me. He kisses me every night before we go to sleep. He prays for me and with me and supports and encourages me in whatever I chose to do.

He deeply desired to have our children and was and is an all hands-on dad. Whether he took the girls after our long days of school to give me a break or kept the girls at home and sent me on a day out, he was always involved. He has sent me for long massages and days out to relax. He lets me know he still desires me just like he did 26 years ago.

I say this all of the time. Every time I think of how he could have had any girl he wanted , he chose me. I am just still amazed and in awe that he picked me. But I’m so glad he did. I will spend my life making him never regret that.

I love you Kevin with everything that I am. Those kisses..they still me weak. That wink..still makes me feel like we just met. That reaching for my hand or putting your arm around me makes me just know everyone is looking at us thinking “how lucky they are”. That I love you …..well…I can’t help falling in love with you.

 Happy Anniversary Kevin L.
